XML.com に作者の Joe Gregorio (Atom の仕様策定にもかかわっている人） の記事が載ってます。そういえば Atom はフィードのほうに関してはもう IETF で技術レビューは終わったようで実装もほぼ GO な状態、と Tim Bray がさっきメーリングリストで言ってました。Blog にもでてますね。
